I hope that the start of 2017 has been as awesome for you as it has been for BVT.
This year the team was welcomed back to an expanded office space. We are still at 492 Moorhouse Avenue, but we now have twice the space. No longer are we squished around a tiny table, taking lunch in shifts so that we can all fit. The hot water zip, make shift table tennis table (word is Morgan is the person to beat), a seminar room, more spacious and naturally lit engineering work room and new signage have made for a great working atmosphere.
We also welcomed a great bunch of new team members. Ben Horsfall, has moved to Christchurch from the UK and has an amazing wealth of FEA and simulation experience.
Fresh from University of Canterbury we welcome Anita Holmes, Cameron Brewster (Cam B2), Michael Kaye and Jordan Kelly. Erik van den Berg has moved here from Cairns after a distinguished career as a pharmacist, he has retrained as a mechanical engineer. The graduates are working their way through our induction programme at the moment and will be full time in one of our teams next quarter. We also said goodbye to Mike Walker and Quentin Lawler at the end of 2016, and wish them all the best with their career changes.
One of the key differences at BVT is our ability to be flexible and react to unplanned changes. Matt and I have had to live this, and we have a wee girl due in April. I will be taking some time off and then coming back in a different role. Meanwhile, we have welcomed Roz Wood to be our new Practice Manager. Roz has returned to New Zealand after living and working in Australia, where she built up considerable Practice Management experience working in Tax and Business Advisory practices.
We are planning a series of seminars and events in our new space, and will let you know as these come up.
I would also like to give a big shout out to Morgan Boyd and Alex Merino, who have done an amazing job of updating, formatting and general magic-ing of our IT systems.
We are super excited about working with you in 2017.
