We are pleased to announce that senior professional services strategist, Ceinwen McNeil has taken on the mantle of Acting CEO at BVT for the next three months.
Our Managing Director, Matt Bishop is taking a well deserved sabbatical during this period, explaining “I’ll be stepping back from the day-to-day operations of the business to explore the latest technology trends and international advancements in value engineering.”
2019 marks BVT’s tenth year in business. Having organically grown from 2 people to a 40-strong team with projects across New Zealand and Australia, Matt believes “This is an ideal time for me to personally consolidate and plan the next phase of growth while my team continues full steam ahead. There is no doubt that the next era is one of change and we want to remain at the forefront.”
After designing our original growth strategy in 2016 and having consulted with us throughout the past two years, Ceinwen has an intimate knowledge of our business, culture and clients. Her appointment not only ensures continuity of service and client confidence but also that we continue to challenge the status quo locally, and across the Tasman.
Our leadership team were strategic in their decision to select a non-engineer to lead the business during this time. “Leadership of an organisation is no longer based on specialised technical knowledge”, says Ceinwen. “You can buy technical competency off the shelf or it’s automated. What resonates with our clients is the application of these skills to optimise their businesses. And to do this, we need highly developed interpersonal and strategic skills to leverage the most out of those technical capabilities.”
BVT has also just been nominated for the highly prestigious Financial Review Client Choice Award. Ceinwen is looking forward to being at the helm throughout the awards process, as BVT is pitted against other high profile engineering consulting firms. She believes it’s “setting the scene for what 2019 is going to be like.”
“I’m really excited about representing the company in the market but also about continuing to challenge the status quo,” says Ceinwen. “BVT is prepared to say ‘yes, we are different.’ We make no apologies for that.
